Impreza strut bar on Legacy?

Featured Replies

Have any of you put a Gen1 Impreza strut bar onto a Gen 1 Legacy??

I took the trusty tape measure out and saw that the space between the front struts and the bolts appear the same.

I dont know about the gen 1 stuff... but with some minor modification to the "body" of my 98 Legacy GT I put a 22mm Rear Sway and Whiteline Rear Strut Brace from a 2002 Impreza RS. I would imagine that your gen 1 stuff should be compatible.. some people said my Impreza stuff wouldn't fit on the legacy.. but it eventually did. Give it a try and let us know!

Thats cool, i dont really plan on putting in a rear bar becuase I have the trunk cover and a 12" Infnity kappa perfect in the way. Thanks for the help

gen 1 and even gen 2 should be nearly identical to the Impreza

i had an Impreza RS bar on my 99 Legacy GT with no modification.

So i got a cheeseball Front Strut Tower Bar from eBay for a 93+ GC8, and put it on the wagon today. It fit like a glove. The surprising thing is i can actually notice a difference in the handling of the car. Response is quicker, although the little bumps seem to hit a bit harder.

it was like $15 .... I basically bought it as a goof, as it was obviously not high tech, but Im actually kinda happy with it.
