Midwst
The Haynes manual says I have to pull the timing belt to change the crank sensor on my 1991 Legacy, non turbo. Other people say it is easy to change. does the timing belt need to be removed? Thanks.
BigMattyD
No, the timing belt does not have to be removed as far as I remember. The crankshaft sensor mounts to the top of the oil pump with a single bolt. It should be accessible when you remove the alternator. Midwst
Thanks. Actually, I guess it was the Chilton's manual that said remove timing belt. Glad to know its not that hard.
Legacy777
Ditch the crappy manuals and d/l the factory one from me. http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru_manual_scans/1992_FSM_(Engine_%26_Electrical)/ It's for the 92, however most of the stuff is the same. Midwst
I tried Josh. It locked up my computer! Will try again later. The aftermarket manuals truly suck.
Legacy777
Does the link work? You need to RIGHT CLICK AND SAVE AS the pdf document. Do NOT try and open it from the web.
