July 21, 200520 yr i currently have a 1990 legacy wagon with 200K+ miles on it. it is really beat up (interior and exterior). i want to buy a new sube, but i hear so many people rip on the newer gens for being maitenance needy. my question is: Should I buy a newer sube (2000+) or just spend the money on re-doing my '90? my sube runs great, no leaks (except the AC), it just looks beat to death. it has 2.2l FI engine with an AT. my other thought is to keep the '90, buy a newer one and then fix up the '90 slowly. is it expensive to "fix up" the '90? are there too many maintenance issues with the new ones? etc...etc...etc... any opinions are welcome. thanks!
July 21, 200520 yr It's always cheaper to fix an old vehicle vs buy a newer one. Only buy for reliability, safety, to pick up chicks, or because you just want one. If you're happy with the old Soob, stick with it. You can do a lot of fixing up with the money you save on payments and insurance. Just my opinion.
July 21, 200520 yr Author thanks ! and the reliability issue is what i am worried about. i keep hearing horror stories about new soobs being "unreliable" in caomparison to older soobs. thanks for the opinion...any others?
July 21, 200520 yr My first gen Legacy was bullet proof. What little work I had to do on it was very simple and straight forward.
