hatchsub
Where is the voltage regulator located on an 83 subaru? I believe mine is going bad or is bad because sometimes my amps just keep going up when i give the car more gas. I know it is located outside of the alternator but the book doesn't say where. the sucker king
if you've got an external VR it's the gold colored box mounted on the passengers side of the engine bay next to your ignition coil. but i think by '83 they were inside the alternator. hatchsub
My book was not very specific...it said earlier models will have an external VR. If it is inside the alternator that would make the most sense considering its giving me a lot of trouble right now. Thanks if you've got an external VR it's the gold colored box mounted on the passengers side of the engine bay next to your ignition coil. but i think by '83 they were inside the alternator. Ross
If its in your alternator, the manufacturers sticker will probably say "IC Reg." on it.
