I have had problems with the boots on the front CVs breaking ( about every six months) I put in new engine and tranny mounts and this solved the problems for a few months longer. Has anyone ever sent the CVs to a driveshaft shop and seen if they can put U-joints or something of the like to replace having those rubber boots?

I've added an additional heat shield on my '87 dl wagon between the catalytic converter and the front passenger side cv boot.
