Am I the only one?

Featured Replies

am I the only one to have actually bolted on a larger throttle body on an EA82 (turbo or not) and actually have driven it more than 500 miles?

if you can recall...I bolted on an XT6 throttlebody onto a turbo spyder intake manifold, and that went into my GL-10 wagon. I blew two engines shortly after due to poor tuning (on stock EMS) running over 15 PSI of boost on two blocks that were very high mileage. :banghead:

That setup is still sitting on my wagon...and has not made it onto my RX...yet.

However, today in scrounging thru parts, I came up with a complete spyder intake, the upper half of an XT6 manifold, an XT6 TB...and two other TBs...a normal one and one from a spyder.

I've never read/heard of anyone else actually installing a larger TB onto their setups...just spyder intakes or fancy home made intake systems....I am about to embark on another spyder-XT6TB conversion for the RX....this time I'll be sure to document it.

but agian...I ask....has anyone else done this?

i am curently working on a larger TB for my spider, it came off of a GM ecotec 2.2L. the reason i am using this TB, is it has a larger bore, and it has the GM IAC for my future MSnEDS system. the throtle setup is also much smaller so the TMIC fits better. i will take pictures soon.

I wanted to, because we have a 6 sitting around, but it wouldnt bolt up on the '86 intake.
