PeterD
my 82 wagon is now on the road all licensed and such. but i noticed that the oil pressure guage is reading 25psi at highway speeds and will often drop to 0 when its warm. the engine seems to run great, could I have a bad oil presure sender? my 84 i had a while back didn't have any problem like that. my second question is for gear ratios, is there a difference between an 82 and a 84 gl wagon. i noticed my rpms are much higher at 70mph like almost 4k whare my 84 was at 3k at 70mph. chef_tim
Hey Peter, my hatch back does the same thing (it's a CCR motor). I replaced the sender and it read the same. I'd suggest saving the $40 . It worries me because alot of the EA81 cars I've had read almost to the red line and then drop abit from there when warmed up. Sorry I don't have an answer, just wanted you to know your not alone. Ross
Put a cheap mechanical gauge on it. 25psi is rather low for that sort of revs. It should be sitting at more like 40psi. It should not drop below 10psi when idling. Yes, there is a difference in the ratio for 3rd and 4th between the 82 and 84 - the 84 has a higher 3rd and 4th.
