September 7, 200520 yr to any and everyone out here help. i have an 84 brat gl with a carb on it.does it have a coolant thermosensor on it? if it does will someone please tell me where its at. i have looked a total of 5 hours looking for this thing. i have read and read about thermosensors and i cant find it. the brat is running ragged and from what ive read its probably got a corroded connection but i cant find it.there is a sensor on the intake where the top rad hose hooks to.it has a flat spade like end on it.i assume thats the temp sensor for the dash. please someone help me..desperate.
September 7, 200520 yr Unless it is a turbo/MPFI, then, no it doesn't have a coolant thermosensor. It does had a temp gauge sensor (thermostat housing area), and a cooling fan thermoswitch (passenger-side radiator tank).

September 7, 200520 yr Not true - there is the feedback carb version that DOES use the signal from the thermosensor to adjust the fuel mixture. However, these type of sensors have two spades, not just one.

Also if did have a feedback system, the same temp sensor would have 2 spade connectors on it, one for the gage one for the engine management.
