Ok. Question. What was the point of chaging the WRX from a 2.0L to a 2.5L if the horse power is only 10 greater? Im confused to say the least. I mean, I guess you would rely on the turbo less but whats the point if you still have to use premium gas?

Subaru likes to limit the number of parts and engine blocks they are producing at a time. Right now they only have the 2.5 and the Tribeca (EZ30) engine to worry about and this makes the mass production of parts easier and upgrades and changes easier and more cost effective.

 

My question is, why not have the STI's get a closed deck block like the old 2.2 turbo got? That block is unbelievable.

Makes sense, but then why didnt they do that in the first place? Why did they choose to produce a 2.0L when at the time they only had a 2.2L and 2.5L out?

 

Another question. If they were changing the engine then why didnt they work to make it more efficient? As I stated before, I love the WRX but I could never afford to pay for a turbo and how many people are going to be able to now? Its not like the early 90's when the Legacy turbos were out.
