I got the brat fixed, she runs good, with minimal hesitation every once in a blue moon.

 

I am getting some backfiring through the carb when the engine is cold, and I rev it high then rip my foot off the gas...what does this indicate?

my guess is timing ..

either too advanced or the centrifigal weights are sticking.. i think the carby/non ecu cars have centrifigal advance plus vacum advance

Cheese? Anyway......timming is dead nuts on @ 8 deg. BTDC I did the paper test with th antibackfiring valve, and it didn't suck the paper up. And accoriding to that, it is defective.

 

But where abouts are the centrifugal weights, and how do I check/fix them?
