I put a new modulator valve in my 87 gl wagon (and cleaned the governor, and replaced trans pan gasket and filter). Running much better, but seems to shift a bit early. Is there an easy way to adjust this? Or is there a difficult way to adjust this? Or anything in between?

There is a shift adjustment screw on the Modulator valve, where the vac line fits up to it. (there should be anyway)if you take the vac line off and look into it you should see a little sloted adjustment screw in there.

 

not shure which direction does what check your instructions that came with the valve.
