I just replaced a cv axle in my '92 Loyale because the boot blew and it was making clicking/grating and groaning noises, especially while turning. The clicking/grating noises are gone now, but the groaning is still there.

 

Any ideas of where to start?

Probably a wheel bearing.

Growning from the CV shaft?

 

Or is the growning from your Power steering pump?

Low power steering fluid , air or moisture in the lines will cause a growning noise in the power assisted rack and in the pump

 

If you have power steering that is.

I actually haven't checked the power steering fluid recently.... will do that first thing in the morning!
