I am going to put a new transmission x-member on my wagon. The EA82 x-member that is stock for this transmission is a little too narrow for the EA81 mounting points.

 

I am curious what everyone else does. I will have a shop hone the holes on both ends outward to the correct width, then have them grind/modify the plates that the x-member mounts to so that everything fits flush. By the way, what are those plates called - they hold the rear end of the leading rods (?).

 

Anyhow, I'm mostly interested in what all-y'all are doing to solve this issue.
