Catalytic question...

I'm looking to put a set of headers on my '97 OBW. I'm looking for any info that anyone has about the Stromung Cat & mid-pipe. Does it cause CEL issues or any other nasties I need to worry about? Thanks in advance.

I have heard of CEL eliminators for use with said systems. That is all I know.

Yeah, I saw those. I'm more concerned with wasting my MAF sensor or ECU if they sense too big a change.

I find it virtually impossible that a different exhaust would actually damage the ECU. The only wear item is FLASH memory, which is capable of a limited number of writes. I doubt the FLASH is being written in the car as the settings are forgotten at power down.

As far as the MAF goes, I would think the air intake used would have a greater effect, but others know more on that one.

O.K. , I guess my concern is, why do they get a CEL if there's nothing wrong?
