pictures and picture size

How do you guys get such big pics to post...i always get an error stating too big and then when i do get it to load, it's dinky compared to everyone else's....Help..

Humm,, maybe the problem is resolution and file size..

for example,,

An image that is 6"x6" @ 72dpi (dots per inch) might only be 100k (kilobytes)

while an image at 3"x"3" @ 300dpi might well be over 500k

 

 

So I would make sure that in some "photo editor" on your computer to make sure the image is about 75dpi or so, then you can make the image bigger at that resolution. and save it as a compressed .jpeg this will make the file size even smaller.

Color also adds to the file size. if you can drop the image to 16 colors or

(VGA) that will make the file size smaller.
