compression 8.5,9,8.5,9 bar(1,2,3,4)..is a good/bad compression

According to the FSM standard compression is 11.0-11.8 bar

 

The lower service limit is 9.0-9.8 depending on cranking speed

 

Subaru reccomends no more than 2 bar, or 28 PSI variation between cylinders

 

 

It does show an (other) category, which could be MPFI or Carby, i'm not sure, but if its MPFI the lower service limit is 8.5-9.3

 

Which means you should be fine, but like the rest of us, a new set of rings wouldn't hurt
