Wheel Bearing

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, new member. I have a grinding noise in the left front wheel area, just replaced axles a couple of months ago (also replaced rotors and pads). I am now getting a grinding noise, I thought it was brakes (turns out not to be). Perhaps the bearings? hard to do? any other solution other than replacing them?

Thanks

Welcome, yes that could well be the bearing. Lif the wheel off the ground and check for play. Its not a hard job to replace the bearings, nor are they expensive.

SOA bearing kits are around $40-$50.

You don't need any special tools...just a chisel to pop the hub loose from the control arm and a large brass drift to tap the bearings in and out.
