YellowSub
I have a question. The transmission on my '98 Forester is making a whininh noise when accelerating. the shop said it is definately the tranny making the noise. he also said he won't know for sure what is happening intil he opens it up. if it can be repaired, it will be between $500-$1200 (depending on what needs done). If it has to be rebuilt it will be $3000!!! Here's my question...Is the way too much or is that about right? What should I do? some advice please!!!!! tunered
if he dosent have a clue to what the noise is,i dont know why you would even consider letting him work on it,go elsewhere. ed
YellowSub
Anyone have any opinions of just putting in a used tranny? Anyone have a good tranny?
Al_SemC
I've sourced reman, not rebuilt, entire transmission units from dealerships for less than $3000. Take it somewhere else.
