sounds easy enough thanks for the response, i did not know those were mechanical linkages. by the way my egr light is now illuminated on dash, could this cause my carb to malfuntion. what should i expect with egr gone bad. thanks again

The EGR light is driven by mileage, not the actual condition of the EGR. It's not difficult to reset. There are two connectors under the dash left of the steering column. I'm going from memory on this, but I think you unplug the green one and plug in the blue one.

As far as the cylinders getting gas, there's one common manifold runner going to each side. Even with one barrel operating, the cylinders should be getting roughly equal amounts of fuel.

you want the green connectos, at least the ones by your wiper motor to be apart for normal driving, if you plug them in the car will not be happy.
