2.5 RS Sport Pro/VTD ?

Featured Replies

I've recently noticed that on most of the paperwork (including my insurance) I've gotten on my '05 2.5 RS Sport it says that it is a 2.5 RS Sport Pro/VTD. Does anyone have a clue what the Pro/VTD part is about? I know it's got the WRX interior/exterior and suspension goodies because of the sport package, but I have no idea what the other is. Any ideas?

Thanks

RS Sport is aka "RS Pro"

VTD = variable torque distribution

45front.... 55 rear... an AT feature...

Thanks Jamie, I figured you would be the one to know! :) My car is a 5-speed, is it still the same? and what's the difference between this and "symetrical AWD"?

VTD is the fancy name for the AT rear biased torque split

no, this is not applicable to a 5 speed

but it's probably standard 'jargon' on your insurance

Symmetrical AWD is basicaly how Subaru has 'trademarked' their drive line

it's a coined phrase that now will become synonymous with Subaru

basically, full time AWD

standard on all Subaru's.....

shout with questions.

Jamie
