06 Forester Brush Guard

Featured Replies

We just picked up our new Forester but was surprised to see the cheap plastic "brush guard" basically just a thin plastic cover over the bumper. Does anyone know of an aftermarket company that makes a real metal brush guard for this thing. Afterall we live in the middle of deer country.

The Brush Guard is cosmetic only!

It is a cheap/expensive piece of plastic.

I have one and it's only purpose is to look good short of that it's pointless.

I think the reason is, if they make a real Brush Guard, it will interfere with the airbags and safety system.

The car will fold up differently than they designed in a crash.

However,

These guys make some nice looking Bars and they have to be a little more functional than the factory Brush Guard.

Any number of folks on the board will build you one?

Good Luck,

01 Forester--cool/cheezey factory brush guard.

East Coast Bullbars in Australia has some sweet brushguards. Only problem is, well, they're in Australia, but they do export the products, http://www.ecb.com.au/model/Forester.htm
