Back Seat Release Problem

Featured Replies

I have a 2003 Outback Limited Wagon. Apparently the last time I flipped my back bench seat forward to create a flat load floor with the seat backs folded forward, I was careless when I returned it to the normal seating position. It appears that the release in now under the bench seat. Does anyone have any suggestion on how I can release the bench seat?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Gary

you could try undoing the bolts for the hinge,in front of the seat.lift up slightly and reach under to the latch.don't lift to much or you could damage/bend the latch assembly like i did on my 92 legacy.

i think the bolts are 12mm

get somebody with little hands and let them have a go... i've lost the little pull thing a couple times and just shoved my hand down in there...

you should be able to do it without unbolting the seat... but you may have to do that...

good luck!

If yours is like my 97 the little strap is just off of the center of back seat, I reach under with my big hands and find mine without to much trouble.
