Nervuos

Featured Replies

Well Monday I head out to look at an engine for my Subie but im alittle nervuos. Most just about potetial burnage, I dont want to end up with something like I have right now. So with out a compresion gauge or any other "fancy" tools to check specs anyone have any good ideas?

Oh the engine should still be in the car so Ill atleast get to hear it run, look for smoke and all that fun stuff. Just wish I had x-ray vision.

Look for smoke, like you said. Check the condition of the oil, how it looks and smells. Check the radiator, look for oil or gunk in the coolant, smell for a burned smell. Of course, listen for any sounds that shouldn't be there.
