I was looking for some 14" wheels for my 88 wagon and saw an ad for some from a Legacy. This might be a dumb question, but will they fit on my 88 wagon?

Legacy wheels have a 5 bolt pattern vs the 4 bolt pattern on an 80'sGL. Unless you want to change bolt patterns on the rims or the hubs they won't match up. Stumpy

Wont work, like above different bolt pattern 5 lug vs 4 lug. For the older Subaru try finding some Peugeot alloy wheels. They come in 14" and 15" with the same 4x140 bolt spacing as the older Subarus. I have 14" alloys on my '92 wagon and they work great! Look better too... Also look for the wheel guide here, it has pictures of several wheel options for your Subaru.

The only way they will work would be if you did an entire XT6 hub swap. The XT6 was the transition from old-gen Soobs to new-gen Soobs, so they for the most part have the old-gen suspension setup with the new-gen hub setup, including the 5 X 100 lug pattern of the new Soobs, unlike your 4 X 140 pattern.
