bartt
Hi Everyone- I have a 97 outback with about 25k on a rebuild, just turned 130K. It's been idling rough for a couple of weeks and got worse this AM. Seems fine on the freeway and when cold, just rough at the stop lights. This AM the check engine light came on. I suspect the O2 sensors or cat, but I see other threads on this subject that lead to many other parts. Is there a way to get the codes without a reader?? I know some cars will yeild the codes by turning the key on and off a number of times. Perhaps the suby with do the same?? Please advise. subiefan
No, you have to have a code reader. Some parts stores, like Auto Zone, will do this for free, however.
