i was wondering if someone could please tell me where to find out some info on troubleshooting on my subaru i have reciently bought a 1989 subaru touring wagon with ea82 multi point fuel injection (no turbo) having problems with either fuel or electrics car runs for a short time then when at operating temp the car has a bad miss when under load under 2000 rpm knowing a bit about ea81 motors points and carbs this has me at a loss being electronic dissy and all do not know much about the ea82 multi point fuel injection (no turbo) any information would be a great help thanks

Turn the key to on, engine not running, tilt the wheel up and look underneath. Read the codes and let us know, or read similar threads on ECM codes. If no codes, then your problem is basic, spark, vacuum, fuel. Good luck.

Before worrying about the complexities, take care of the everyday: New sparkplugs, sparkplug wires, distributor cap and rotor. Also, don't forget the fuel filter.

thanks for the reply have read the codes to my knowledge the computer is saying nothing wrong but im proberly wrong blinks 7 times then pause then another 7 times about 1 second apart have done plugs leads fuel filter have traced 1 problem to sensor an the cat but still surges on acceralation what ever happened to the days where if you had spark fuel and air they would go thanks again for the reply warren
