Quick question, I blew a wheel cylinder on the way to work this morning. The posts I have seen say to put the washer, that is between the nut and the cone washer, so the side marked "out" goes agains the nut. My washers do not say anything, but do have a large white mark on one side. Is this the same as "out"? This is the way they came out, but just double checking. Car has 146k, bought new, and never had rear brakes done.

The washer should be slightly curved. One side being concave, and the other convex.

 

The concave side goes toward the cone washer and the hub.

 

The convex side goes toward the axle nut.
