BigDTX Posted January 19, 2006 Share Posted January 19, 2006 Hi, I've got a 1990 Legacy with about 160K miles on it. The car runs great but I'm having an issue recently: If it's cold outside, the car doesn't want to start. I'll hit the key and hear just a click - no turnover. If I hit the gas I can hear what sounds like maybe the fuel pump clicking. If I let the car sit for a few minutes, it will start right up and run fine. Once it gets warmed up, or if the weather is warm, the car starts fine. I plan to take it to the shop, but was wondering if anyone has ideas on what to look at? Thanks. Setright Posted January 19, 2006 Share Posted January 19, 2006 Have a small hammer or a rubber mallet handy. Next time it acts up, tap the start motor assembly lighty a few times.
