wrong cam caps

Featured Replies

hey

i bought rebuilt cylinder heads they have sent me some wrong cam caps with the head. i am under the impression that heads are line bored at the factory dealer. so am i right to think that i won't be able to use the wrong cam caps they sent me or even the old ones of my bad cylinder heads.

i think from now on i will just get my original heads redone instead of buying rebuilt ones off the internet

If you are talking about bolt on caps that hold the cam in the same ones should be used. If you don have them you install the cams and torque the bolts donw one by one mixing caps until it turn freely. Needless to say this is an emergency method as the final machineing gets done with the engine running.
