'86 GL Wagon, what's the micro switch on the heater?

Featured Replies

There's a micro switch on the driver side of the heater, near the throttle pedal, anyone know what it hooks up to? I just pulled the dash and heater because of a mouse nest inside the heater below the heater core, the car was sitting for a few years. Dash and heater are back in the car, but I can't remember if this switch was hooked up to anything and I can't find it in Haynes or Chilton wiring diagrams. 2 wires, white -| connector.

Maybe something for A/C, which this car doesn't have.

Thanks,

Monte

yes it is for the AC control

I rewire mine to a small rocker on the dash

beside the blower speed knob

Having AC on your feet is kewl in the summer

Hope this helps

You're welcome

The wiring harness connector for the switch is in the center console

same side as the switch, close to the front of the panel

very near the antenna connector

I couldn't find anything in the harness to hook up to the switch. I asked about it incase I buried the harness connection when I reinstalled the dash. The car doesn't have A/C, so there shouldn't be anything to hook up, right? If there is, it's buried/caught on something and I need to dig around for it.

Next time I'll tape and mark wires as I disconnect them. :-\
