doesn't the ea81 dual range 4wd 4-speed trans have a lower gear ration than the other year ea81 trannies? i may have found a 4-speed 4wd trans in a 82' wagon.. along with a 57k original engine

I believe the only gear that is lower is 4th gear. Starting in '83, 4th gear got much "taller"..pretty sure all the other gears are the same.

I think 3rd may also higher after '83, although i'm not sure. 1st and 2nd are definitely the same.
