stoner72 Posted February 15, 2006 Share Posted February 15, 2006 OK, so I think I found another Loyale wagon, this time with Hi/Lo 4x4. But the guy says the coolant is "Milky." If memory serves correctly, that means mixing of oil and coolant... is that correct? If not what is that indicative of? The CV joints click. How far could one get on bad CV joints, as I'd have to drive this some distance to get it home. Besides, if there is a head gasket issue (above), then I'm probably stuck towing anyways.... Also rusted into the storage bins in the rear. Is this a quick bondo job, or leading to other issues down the road. I am in AZ, so I'm not so worried about the rust once it's in the desert.... Rust.....super bad mojo; there's an old saying: "Rust never sleeps." Unless you're a home mechanic with good abilities in bodywork, walk away from this one. fbh Posted February 15, 2006 Share Posted February 15, 2006 I'm in no way an expert on this, but I read somewhere that milky coolant is when oil mixes with it, usually with a blown head gasket. Also, you can get quite far with clicking CV's, but if they fail they can fail in one of two ways: one is the car just loses power on that wheel (solvable by putting it in 4WD ), or two, which is unfortunately the more common one, seizing up altogether.
