92 loyale check enging light blinking

Featured Replies

Hi, Ive come here for some information. i have a '92 loyale and the check enging light has been coming on and off during travle for about 4 months. eg. i turn on the car, and the light will some times be on, other times it will not be. and i drive for a bit then during travel it will turn off or on and will some times continue doing this every 5-25 mins or so. and recently i found two loose wiring harnesses inder the hood (near the wiper moter) and connected them, one was a green harness, and the other white. and then while driving after my light was on for roughly 5 mins or so, the light began to blink, once every second. my friend told me i connected the harnesses to diagnose the light. and i am wondering what the code is for the light blinking once a second.

* note* when the light turns off/on i notice no change in performance in the car.

thanks for any help!!!

those loose wires were the problem. They are supposed to be unhooked. The green connector is a test mode and kicks your fuel pump and and off at 1/2 sec intervals. The white connector is a read mode connector which is used for pulling codes off the ECU

The flashing of the CEL is a OK. they do that if everythign checks out on them
