March 12, 200620 yr Does anyone have an alternative for a service/repair manual for an 01 OB? The dealer wants $500 and the subscription seems rather high as well. Is there anything else out there? Dale
March 12, 200620 yr Have you tried eBay? It usually has run me $10-60 for repair manuals for my vehicles when buying them on eBay and that is for the factory service manuals. Chilton's or Hayne's books usually for $20 or less, including shipping. Does anyone have an alternative for a service/repair manual for an 01 OB? The dealer wants $500 and the subscription seems rather high as well. Is there anything else out there? Dale
March 12, 200620 yr you could risk ebay. but those manuals are not factory and may not have correct informaton for $30... i would recommend http://techinfo.subaru.com at least you know you've got the right info from the source. Jamie
March 12, 200620 yr Since I see you are in Seattle - try the King County library system www.kcls.org I have a 1993 Legacy L and they have the factory manuals for that car and I believe many others - the down side is you can't check them out so plan on sitting and reading, finding what you want and photocopy away. I haven't checked the Seattle Public Library system.
March 13, 200620 yr Let me look, I might have a set of Factory Service Manuals for an 01 Legacy (which includes OutBacks). Most of the ones that I have are new to slightly used. Send me a PM.
March 13, 200620 yr Yep, I've got a like new 2001 FSM set (just dust from sitting around) for $275, that is for all 8 books plus three suppliments (auto tranny, mech functions, 6 cylinder).
