Outback H6 with a lot of miles?

hi

Has there anybody expiriences with the "old" outback h6 2002

, that has run about 18k miles?

are here any known bugs? maybe the AT transmission? or somthing else?

because i got o good offer to buy one!

timing chain replacement is expnsive as there are 20 or so orings between the timing case and engin block and lots of tensioners but awsome motors that seam to be much better then the 2.5

 

I thought changing the timing chain on the H6 was not necessary in the normal life of the engine, unlike the 2.5 4cyl that requires the timing belt to be replaced every 105Kmiles.

 

I can see doing the seals and o-rings and the like when needed....

Page 13, under "Engine Disassembly". It's supposed to last "the life" of the engine, whatever Subaru determined to be the "life" of the EZ30, provided the previous owner dilligently changed the oil.

There was a post on here not too long ago where someone did have to service the tensioner -
