gas milage questions

Featured Replies

Hey all. Its been awhile since ive had a question but this on is stumping me. Im not getting the best gas milage i dont think. I havent actually gotten a chance to do it out and give you a good estimate but im at the pump a lot more now than i was last year. I swapped the intake and carb from the carter-weber one barrel to a hitachi 2 barrel and it runs great except for the milage. I pulled one of the plugs to see if it was running rich and the plug was brown just like it should be. The fuel filters are both about 6 or 7 months old and the carb has about 6 thousand miles on it now. Anyone got any ideas or should i write back when i get exact numbers for gas milage. Last summer it was getting 27mpg on the highway with a 3 speed auto and going along at 4 grand for a long time. Thanks for any suggestions guys.

PS this is on an 83 subaru GL four door with an auto 2WD.

should be gettin 25+mpg on the highway

I get 15 mpg with my hicrappy carb. :(
