April 20, 200619 yr My 4wd button rattles and makes a bunch of racket on the freeway in my justy, and I'm thinking of taking the shift knob off and running the wire for the 4x4 switch into a switch in the dash somewhere. I know there is a screw on the front of the knob, but what are the little holes in the side? how do I get it off?? Thanks!
April 21, 200619 yr Sweet Justy! I believe there is a hollow tube in the middle of the shift knob that you have to push out (really hard to do) to let go of the red button.

April 26, 200619 yr Its a roll pin, like the axles, i have the button, but on the DL/Loyale body, i used a 20 cent mexican coin and it hasn't rattled since, that was over 4 years ago. cheaper and easier, a nickle should fit nicely.

Thanks, Dylan Its a roll pin, like the axles, i have the button, but on the DL/Loyale body, i used a 20 cent mexican coin and it hasn't rattled since, that was over 4 years ago. cheaper and easier, a nickle should fit nicely.
