Well we have 95,000 miles on the Outback sedan. We went through the factory Firestones in 40,000 miles. Our second set was and currently are Cooper Lifeliner STE tires. Which they have been terrible.

What has been a good all year tire that we can get 60,000 out of?

Thanks for the feedback.

I have a 97 OB with almost 500k kms now.

I put 160k kms on a set of Michelin X-Ones and there was still tread left. Very good tire overall.

I put ~220k kms on a set of Toyo 800 Ultras. I pushed them a bit distance wise and there was not much tread left. Very similar to the X-Ones, slightly better grip, but slightly noisier and slightly harsher. I also battled a slight highway vibration with these tires for most of their life. Balance was fussy.

Last year, I put some Michelin Harmony's on my car. Very similar in feel and handling to the X-Ones. I like them so far. I opted not to go with the HydroEdge for a few reasons. I was informed that they might be even harsher than the Toyo's, and I didn't want that. Some reports on TireRack by Subaru owners confirmed this. Some also complained of noise. The dealer said customer feedback on winter handling was mixed. And all else being equal (which it never is), I'd rather not have a unidirectional tire that doesn't allow me full flexibility with tire rotation.

My experience to date.

Hello:

Just this last week put the Goodyear TripleTred Assurance on my 00 Outback wagon. Normally would not recommend a tire after 100 miles and a week but have had these same tires on my Grand Prix for 6 months. They are an excellent tire. Had a heavy rain storm and never even noticed it was wet! They do make the ride slightly stiffer but corner a little better. These were the top rated all season tire in the last Consumer Reports test. A little pricey but 80,000 mile tire. I got my local Discount Tire store to match the Tire Rack price ($109 each $500 out the door) so was happy with the deal. A great source of info for tires is Tirerack.com

The Michelin HydroEdge I put on my 97 OBW at 120,000 miles (exactly) now have 52,000 miles on them and 7/32nds or more tread (new is 11/32nd, the wear bars are 2/32nd).

I usually replace mine at 5/32nd as their hydroplaning and wet weather performance decline drastically.

BTW they replaced Michelin X Ones that were on the car 63,000 miles and still had over 5/32nds.

Are TT owners still rcomplaining about a drop in mileage?
