mellow65
Ok here's the story, I was driving along and then I had no power. Later to find out the left side timing belt chewed some teeth off, no biggy went to the parts store and got new left and right timing belt. Figured they never had been changed. I changed the belts and started it up and it ran like crap. Sounded like there was a big miss and wouldn't rev over 2500. So I took it back apart today and rechecked my marks, they were off. But the thing was I couldn't get them to line up. I set the cam and crank by the book, but the teeth didn't line up with the belt. According to the parts guy the timing belts are all the same. I'm thinking maybe there are different part #s for the turbo or not. Any input would help thanks.
GLCraig
All EA82s and EA82Ts use the same belt. Here's what you need to check. When the timing pointer is lined up with the middle of the 3 marks on the flywheel, the timing mark on one of the cam gears needs to be at 0deg and the mark on the other cam gear needs to be at 180degs.
