April 25, 200619 yr my 88 turbo a/t full time 4wd is still using coolant , aleast 1 time a week i have to add coolant , i repaced radiator , hoses , added tranny cooler, no coolant in oil, compression is good, no bubbles in radiator , no coolant on garage floor , no leaking on top of motor, Two Hoses to check.... Both of them spray to the top of the motor. One is the PITA hose. Located on the top of the motor from the thermostat to the top of the motor.. if its the one thats bad plan to spend a good portion of the day to figure it out. Next one would be the 90 degree hose coming from the water pump to the pipe that goes under the intake to the heater hose. That one is a pain as well but not as bad. Then check to make sure that the radiator isn't leaking and all your clamps are tight. Believe me I killed two turbo motors because of that I no longer own the car that made me fall in love with Subaru.
April 25, 200619 yr Author ok, also new water pump, gasket ,o-ring, heater hoses, water pipe was good, also, + oil line + coolant line from turbo replaced , thanks
April 25, 200619 yr make sure to check the pita hose as it will evap any lost coolant before it hits the ground.
