redsox f.f.
So i need to disengage my engine when i flush my power steering fluid through the return hose after I put in my new steering rack. My plan is to flush fresh fluid through the resevoir and high pressure line then put in my new rack and connect the lines then disconect the return line from the resevoir and crank the engine in short bursts till it runs clean. What do you guys think. Can I remove the fuel pump relay?? Any other suggestions?? Thanks
keltik
The last time i had to do a similar job i just took the power steering belt off and spun the pump with my finger. This was on a honda though and i have no idea how stiff the pumps on subarus are. KELTIK

KELTIK That's a much better idea - less wear & tear on the starter, avoids confusing the fuel injection system, etc.
