May 27, 200619 yr I have a 06 Impreza 2.0R Manual Sedan, purchased New 3 months ago (My third new Subaru, We currently have an 06 ForresterX as well). It currently has 10,000 Klm. Since 5,000 Klm, (when I started to drive the car harder), it is either flooding or starving for fuel when exiting corners with heavy throttle. Mainly happens on right hand corners. When heavy throttle is applied exiting corner, the revs drop from 5000 RPM to 3500 RPM, with the car decelerating. Once you straighten the car up, the motor will begin to accelerate, (although with less performance than normal, and continues to run poor for the next couple of Klm's) Subaru Australia, so far have been unable to "Find" the fault, and continually blame my driving ability . (Funny my 2000 Liberty 2.5RX did not have the same problem, and my 06 Forrester X does not exhibit the same problem) Can anybody help?
May 28, 200619 yr Just curious....what level is your gas tank when this occurs? Does it mainly happen when you're at half a tank or less? Or does it also happen when the tank is full? I've heard of issues like yours with low fuel.
May 28, 200619 yr happens to my WRX with anywhere from just below 1/2 tank to empty the transfer pump inside of the fuel tank cant keep up thus, hard cornering results in fuel depravation Jamie
May 29, 200619 yr Author Does it mainly happen when you're at half a tank or less? Or does it also happen when the tank is full? I've heard of issues like yours with low fuel. Does tend to happen more with half a tank or less. Also doesnt seem to happen when AirCo / Climate control is turned off. Found some stuff in forums here in Australia, we they are saying that it may be caused by poor earthing, and suggest adding some earth straps various parts around the engine bay. (Strut towers, Heads). Apparently Subaru Aust have announced a Product Recall for a very similar problem in WRX's 03-05.
May 29, 200619 yr Well....if you add some extra grounds, and find that the problem goes away, let us know.
May 30, 200619 yr I vote fuel pump. The odds that Subaru changed fuel pumps from the old to the 06 are pretty atranomical, so I vote upgrading to the Walbro....
