removed fuel damper

I removed this damper near the fuel pump. the fuel pump has one just as the schematic showed for spfi system. There is only one in the schematic. Is there a reason unknown that I had an extra one in my 93 loyale? I had to remove quickly due to a leak (yearly squirts didn't go away this time). Should I find another or can i go with the 1990 schematic?

I eliminated mine a while back when I upgraded fuel pumps.

I really dont see much need for it. they slightly reduce fuel pump noise and are supposed to help keep pressure nice and smooth. The fuel pressure regulator does the same thing.

if you cant find one easily dont worry about it too much.

hey thanks. I didn't think it needed it, as there is one at the other end after fuel filter. I am assuming it was there for the fuel filter element. If air is in the line before second damper, the pump would really send a few shots to the filter. It didn't bother the napa filter that is in it, so not worrying about it is in agreement.:) besides it is set up exactly like a 1990 spfi now...
