Threaded Rod for BRAT battery hold-down

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

Does anybody have an extra one of these rods? The one on the engine side of the battery? I just noticed the washer and wingnut laying on the sheet metal below the battery, but no rod. (hope i remember to get them out of there before I take it out this weekend - and I probaby just guaranteed myself that I won't. STML victim).

Thanks,

Got a junkyard near ya? Should be able to grab one off almost any car that uses those and make it work easily. Also a good bungee cord is always a good way to temporay (or permanently) hold your battery down ;)

Hey I had the same problem, I went to Home Depot, Picked up threaded rod the same diameter and a washer/nut to go with it, Heated it up with a torch, and bent a hook on the end. It works perfect.

Automotive stores sell them for 3 dollars for a set of two!
