Heater not working right

Featured Replies

My heater on my 85 GL Turbo is not working right. It only blows air out of the Center Console no matter where you put the control. Could it have something to do with the fact that my belt is not on my AC unit or is it something easy???

Need some help this has been driving me :banghead:

Vo:confused:

probably the vacuum line

the doors which control where the air comes out are moved

by vacuum...

theres a vacuum line that enters the firewall from engine side

or maybe you have a leak on one of the other lines thats

starving the heater controls

i had the exact same problem on my 87 gl on saturday. i had put a lift kit in it about a month ago and have not driven it much since then. went to turn on the defrost, but air only blew out the vents no matter what button was pushed.

subuluvr is prob right, sounds like vacumn.[sp?].

there is a line that runs from the motor to a funny round contraption sort of thing [heater control unit?] mounted on the passenger side of the firewall kinda in the corner.

check that line for breaks, cracks, etc or hopefully just unplugged.

mine came disconnected when i dropped the motor putting in the lift kit.

or the heater control unit? thingy could be bad.

hopefully not anything under the dash.

yup. the vac line comes off the passenger side intake, its realy skinny. every time i have seen the heater bow only out he vent, it was because that line was disconnected.

it will plug into a plastic reducer of a fatter line

Thanks guys for all your help. It was the White Canister that was clogged. Once I changed that out everything worked fine.

Once again thanks for your help
