2004 Impreza Stereo/Clock Problems

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Just bought a 2004 Impreza GX and had a strange problem today where while I was driving there was a strange clicking noise, kind of sounding like the indicator coming from near where the fog lights buttons are. When the click happened the radio and the digital clock turn off for about 1 second and come straight back on.

Anyone have any ideas?

cheers :)

Well as it is making a clicking noise when the clock and stereo go off I'm thinking it would be a relay, I have checked the clock one but that is fine

Anyone with any suggestions? This is so annoying :-\

Yeah it wouldn't be under a new car warranty anymore as it's done more than 36,000 kms

Do you think it is worth changing the fuse even if it doesnt look as if it has blown?

Sorry, I didn't see that you weren't from "around here". The US bumper to bumper warranty is for 3 years/36,000 miles so if the warranties are comparable, your warranty would extend for about 58,000 kilometers. Does that help you??

As far as changing the fuse, can't hurt but likely not the culprit. I think your initial suspision of relay is closer to a cause.
