August 24, 200619 yr So I never use my air conditioner, and 1 hot day I went to try it out, and it blows hot air...thats no help, I have heard it can be recharged (if that is the problem) but I am not sure how to go about that, or if I should...any suggestions, or other things I should check? Thanks...

With the help of the site I went to Walmart, bought a recharge bottle of gas and the hose assembly total about $20. The hose assembly has pretty clear instructions as to what to hook it up to and how to recharge. My car isn't here right now but I think that the low and high pressure connections on the AC have different sized couplings so as to make it fool proof when connecting the recharge unit. 15 minutes of my time... cool!

Thanks, I did some searches around here, and I think I will follow some leads, just seemed weird because its a "newer" car (my other is a 93, ac works fine)
August 24, 200619 yr I know what you mean but I think the 01 is the newer style refrigerant that seems to blow warmer anyway. I recall reading (may be a myth) that R134 is more corrosive than R12 therefore more prone to causing leaks.
