we are having trouble getting our backup lights to work on a 96 legacy 2.2l 4dr.

 

Checked bulbs and fuses.... tail and brake lights work.

 

We also noticed that a previous owner had damages a front headlight connection and jury rigged it back. Could that be a problem.

 

The previous owner also installed a stero so we are wondering if anything there may have caused the backup light failure.

 

Chilton just tells me how to change bulbs...

 

Any Ideas????

probably the sensor. 30 bucks at advance. pretty easy to install (although removal wasn't pleasant) and haynes gives pictures

You have dirty contacts in the window switch.
