September 1, 200619 yr The housing should be metal, not plastic. Just follow the lower radiator hose to the engine, and remove that housing that the hose connects to. You'll see the thermostat.
September 1, 200619 yr It is on the driver's side of the car... Lay on your back so that your head is directly under the lower corner of the radiator on the driver's side. There is a 1 1/2 inch diameter hose that connects to the radiator there. Trace it back toward the engine 8 to 10 inches. It connects to the thermostat housing. Matt
September 1, 200619 yr The housing on my 98 2.5 GT is plastic. It has two metal sleeves through which the bolts go. It should be 10mm bolts. Be sure not to loose/mangle the thermostat gasket. It won't seal properly without it. $5 at the dealer:)
