This worked well for me the last few times. Hose is to start the plug as to not crossthread, and the anti seize goop is just insurance.

In holland Subaru always put the spark plug tool in the toolkit. (mainly crappy tools therefore a leatherman. But i never had to use any of them except for a flat tire)
